Our Story
Founded in 2006 in Syria, The Elegant House began with a vision: to blend timeless craftsmanship with thoughtful design. Under the hands of founder and master craftsman Yaser Alrifai and his brothers, the business quickly earned a reputation for quality, integrity, and bespoke furniture pieces made entirely from scratch.
When conflict disrupted our home and our work in 2011, the doors of our original workshop were closed — but not forever. What followed was a journey of resilience: first to Jordan, where Yaser continued his craft, then to the UK in 2015, where the seeds of our rebirth were quietly planted.
In 2019, The Elegant House was re-established in Witney, Oxfordshire — built again from the ground up, this time with a new partner: Yaser Alrifai’s son, Zuher Alrifai, who brought design, digital, and media into the family craft.
Today, we continue as a family business, rooted in tradition, guided by care, and always creating with purpose.
